Shudder released the official trailer for Hallowarrior on September 23, 2026, ahead of its October 16 premiere. The film is a post-apocalyptic thriller that blends wasteland warfare with Halloween traditions. It stars Milly Shapiro, known for Hereditary, as Pumpkin, a solitary survivor on a desolate Earth after a global plague.
In the story, Pumpkin believes she is the last living human. She spends Halloween scavenging for supplies to honor her favorite holiday quietly. Her annual tradition turns violent when a gang of savage raiders discovers her location, forcing her to defend her home against overwhelming odds. The 110-second trailer depicts a one-night siege at a farmhouse dressed for the holiday, with Shapiro fighting through the night using heavy weaponry and improvised sugary traps.
Hallowarrior is the feature directorial debut of Ben Sottak, who also wrote the film. It first premiered at the 2026 Tribeca Film Festival. Sottak produced the film alongside Emmajane Hoffman and Gabriel Rosenstein under the Strange Eons banner, in partnership with The Spitting Image and The Dazey Phase. Shannyn Sossamon stars as Thalia, the ruthless leader of the raiding party, and also executive produces. The ensemble cast includes AJ Bowen and Ajani Russell.
The film will stream exclusively on Shudder starting Friday, October 16, 2026. No other release dates or distribution details have been announced.
