Terror Films Releasing will bring The Night Marchers to streaming platforms worldwide on September 25. The distributor’s rollout includes Tubi, Chilling, The Roku Channel and Fandango at Home, according to matching reports from Horror Society and HorrorFuel.

The found-footage paranormal thriller was written and directed by twin brothers Blake and Brent Cousins. Its story is built around recovered recordings from a documentary crew that disappeared in Hawaii while searching for the Night Marchers. Blake and Brent Cousins also appear in the film alongside fellow twins Kevin and Kelvin Antonio.

An older production finds a new audience

Although the streaming announcement is new, the production has a much longer history. The filmmakers say they began making the project in 2001, drawing on the stories they heard while growing up in Hawaii and on the then-emerging language of found-footage horror. A contemporaneous Honolulu Star-Bulletin report from March 2001 documented the Cousins’ independently produced film and its local theatrical run in Hilo.

In their description of the movie, the filmmakers present the Night Marchers as the spirits of ancient Hawaiian warriors who protect the sacred mana of their chiefs. Their film turns the warning against looking at the procession into the central danger faced by its missing crew. Those supernatural details are part of the movie’s story and the filmmakers’ account of local lore, rather than independently established events.

Terror Films has also released an official trailer for the streaming launch. The footage shows the deliberately rough, first-person visual style used to frame the crew’s final recordings. Viewers will be able to find The Night Marchers on the announced streaming services beginning September 25.
