Shudder has acquired Rebekah McKendry’s vampire film Sundown for release, according to a report by Variety cited by Dread Central. The acquisition adds a new feature to the streaming service’s catalog, though no specific premiere date has been announced yet.

The film centers on three generations of women who reunite at a remote cabin to avenge the death of a loved one. McKendry directs the project from a script written by Joshua Hull and David Ian McKendry. The trio previously collaborated on the cosmic horror film Glorious.

The cast includes Olwen Fouéré, known for The Watchers, Camille Sullivan from Hunter Hunter, and Summer Howell, who appeared in Mike Flanagan’s Carrie. McKendry described the setting as deeply personal, noting that the town in Sundown feels like her hometown of youth and that the family squabbles depicted are ones she knows well.

Production credits include Guns N’ Roses guitarist Slash, who serves as an executive producer under his BeserkerGang label. Other producers include Pasha Patriki of Hangar 18 Media, Michael Paszt of Raven Banner, Andrew Thomas Hunt, and James Fler. The film joins a growing list of horror titles available on Shudder, which continues to expand its library of genre-specific content.

As of now, there is no information regarding when Sundown will become available on the platform. Dread Central noted that further details are expected as the release approaches.
