Guillotine, the first feature directed by Ray Izad-Mehr, is now available on Tubi. Horror Society’s release announcement describes a dark horror anthology narrated by Sean Young, with five stories built around the history and symbolism of execution.
The 90-minute English-language film moves between historical settings, combining satire, grotesque imagery and questions about the use of capital punishment. Its synopsis spans the French Revolution through the fall of Saddam Hussein. Those settings frame the anthology’s stories rather than establish it as a documentary.
Izad-Mehr shares writing credits with Sara Vahabi, Nabor Cabanillas, Melinda Molenda and Lisa Molenda. Producers include Vahabi, Uriah Herr, Tamas Birinyi and the director, with cinematography by Morvarid Reyes Talebzadeh.
Young, whose credits include Blade Runner and Dune, supplies the narration. The new development is the Tubi availability, giving viewers an online destination for the film after festival screenings. Streaming availability can vary by territory, so check the service’s local listing.
