Horror collectors can now access Bride of Re-Animator in high definition. Ignite Films has partnered with Eagle Rock Pictures to release a new 4K Blu-ray edition of the film. This release brings the sequel to Stuart Gordon’s original classic back into physical circulation with updated specifications and fresh supplemental content.
The announcement confirms that the title is coming back to life with this specific media format. The new edition features new special features, including a making-of documentary. These additions provide documented behind-the-scenes material for fans of the franchise who have waited for an enhanced presentation of this particular entry in the Re-Animator saga.
According to Fangoria, the release is available immediately. The 4K and Blu-ray editions are on sale now. This timing places the title alongside other recent horror physical media drops, noting that earlier this year, the character had some major competition in the marketplace. However, this specific Ignite Films offering stands as a distinct product with its own set of bonus materials.
The film stars Jeffrey Combs and Bruce Abbott, reprising their roles from the original. The cast also includes Claude Earl Jones, Fabiana Udenio, David Gale, and Kathleen Kinmont. Their performances are preserved in this new transfer, allowing audiences to view the interactions between Herbert West and Dan Cain with improved visual clarity.
The narrative context remains consistent with previous releases. Eight months after the Miskatonic Massacre, Doctors Herbert West and Dan Cain return as volunteer medics in a Peruvian civil war. Upon returning home, West resumes his experiments. His goal shifts to creating life from spare parts, specifically aiming to bring Dan’s late fiancée back as the ultimate re-animated creation.
Consumers have several purchasing options. The new release is available in four special editions. These standard disc purchases include all the bonus features and come with an exclusive slipcover. Alternatively, buyers can choose one of the bonus editions for additional collectible items.
No further details regarding future re-releases or digital streaming windows have been announced by Ignite Films or Eagle Rock Pictures at this time. The focus remains on this immediate physical media launch.
