Horror Society published the official trailer and release announcement for GASKINS: THE HITCHHIKER KILLER on August 11, 2026. The release sheet sets out the film’s date, distribution format, genre, runtime, rating, principal cast, and main production credits.

The film will arrive on digital platforms and on-demand services on August 28, 2026. Quiver Distribution is handling the release. The announcement lists digital and on-demand availability; it does not provide a theatrical opening or physical-media date.

The release sheet does not name individual digital storefronts or on-demand operators. It also does not specify rental and purchase options, pricing, or a preorder date. The confirmed availability is therefore limited to the stated August 28 digital and on-demand launch.

The project centers on Donald “Pee-Wee” Gaskins, an American serial killer from South Carolina. The provided synopsis outlines that Gaskins stabbed, shot, drowned, and poisoned more than a dozen people. Before his eventual convictions for murder, Gaskins maintained a long history of criminal activities resulting in prison sentences for assault and burglary. Not soon enough, the police discovered eight bodies buried in shallow graves near Gaskins’ home.

The synopsis describes the production as telling Gaskins’ story. The release sheet classifies the film in three categories: true crime, horror, and thriller. It gives the finished feature a runtime of 94 minutes and lists it as not rated.

“Not Rated” is the only rating status included in the announcement. The sheet does not provide a separate content advisory or an alternative classification for a particular market, while the 94-minute figure is presented as the feature’s completed runtime.

Chris Helton directs the feature from a screenplay by JL Goddard. The credited producers are Chris Helton, Sydney Helton, and Taylor Stiles. Taylor Stiles also appears in the cast alongside Shena Verrett, Warren Levi Haney, Carlie Maze, and James Roseman.

The credits give Chris Helton both directing and producing roles. Taylor Stiles likewise has both a producing credit and a starring credit. JL Goddard is credited for the screenplay, while Sydney Helton’s listed role is producer.

Those credits identify the people responsible for the film on both sides of the camera, while the release details define what viewers can expect on August 28. The announcement does not list international dates, festival screenings, or a later Blu-ray or DVD edition.

The official trailer accompanies the release announcement and previews Helton’s treatment of the true-crime material. For now, the confirmed public release plan consists of the August 28 digital and on-demand launch through Quiver Distribution.
