Horror audiences have access to an expanded slate of free streaming options this month, according to reporting from Fangoria.

Pluto TV is leading the expansion with 60 movies moving to its app. This influx includes notable titles such as Event Horizon, Chuck Russell’s remake of The Blob, and Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey 2. The platform also features a substantial collection of franchise entries, specifically noting that nearly all films in the Paranormal Activity series are available. Additionally, viewers can access six late-period Hellraiser movies and six installments from the Children of the Corn saga. Fangoria notes that these three franchises each contribute six titles to the lineup.

Beyond on-demand features, Pluto TV maintains its 24-hour streaming channels alongside the movie library. The service is also adding a new horror television series: iZombie. This supernatural show follows Olivia “Liv” Moore, portrayed by Rose McIver, who becomes a zombie and must consume brains regularly to avoid turning violent. Liv works as a morgue assistant to secure her food source, discovering that eating the brains allows her to absorb memories from the deceased, which she uses to solve crimes. The series centers on this unique premise of a zombie protagonist navigating crime-solving through memory absorption.

Tubi offers a slightly smaller but distinct selection of horror content during this period. A key feature of Tubi’s current lineup is its inclusion of three films from The Twisted Childhood Universe (TCU). These movies reimagine classic children’s stories that have entered the public domain as horror narratives. The specific TCU titles available on the platform include Bambi: The Reckoning, Peter Pan’s Neverland Nightmare, and Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey 2. This provides access to niche horror subgenres that may not be widely available on other free services.

The Pluto TV lineup also includes archival content from Fangoria itself, specifically the compilations Fangoria’s Blood Drive and Blood Drive 2. These releases originate from a contest held in the early 2000s designed to identify emerging filmmakers in the horror genre. The competition featured short films by up-and-coming directors, with winners compiled onto DVD releases. Their presence on the streaming service allows current viewers to see which creators made the cut during that era.

The availability of these titles is confirmed for August on the respective free platforms. Tubi’s focus on The Twisted Childhood Universe offers an alternative viewing experience centered on public domain adaptations.

No additional release dates, pricing changes, or exclusive partnerships beyond these listings have been announced. Viewers can access these titles directly through the Pluto TV and Tubi apps as part of their standard free offerings.
