Found Alive has unveiled a first image of Chloë Grace Moretz ahead of its October 8 world premiere at Sitges. Carlota Pereda’s thriller is the festival’s opening-night film and her first English-language feature, according to Bloody Disgusting.
Moretz plays Reeve LeClaire, who escaped a violent captor as a teenager. A decade later, she agrees to help another survivor. When that girl’s account suggests more people are missing, Reeve enters a dangerous search for them.
The film adapts Carla Norton’s 2013 novel The Edge of Normal, which was also the project’s earlier title. Matt Venne wrote the screenplay, with revisions by Lori Evans Taylor and Pereda. Rupert Friend, Keith Jardine, Thomas Cocquerel and Scott Haze join Moretz in the cast.
The first-look announcement gives festival audiences a confirmed premiere date and introduces the central survivor. It does not establish a general theatrical or streaming release. Pereda previously directed the horror feature Piggy.
