Fede Alvarez has said a screenplay exists for Don’t Breathe 3 and that Jane Levy and Stephen Lang will return. Bloody Disgusting reports the announcement from a Beyond Fest Q&A over the weekend.
Levy played Rocky in the 2016 original, which Alvarez directed after working with her on Evil Dead. Lang’s Norman Nordstrom, known as the Blind Man, continued into the 2021 sequel. Levy did not appear in that second film, leaving Rocky’s story outside its focus.
Rodo Sayagues, who co-wrote the first movie and directed Don’t Breathe 2, had previously discussed the unresolved consequences facing both characters. Bringing Levy and Lang together again would reconnect the third installment with the original’s central conflict.
The Q&A establishes that a script and returning performers are part of the plan. The report does not provide a filming date, release date or a confirmed director for the new installment. Alvarez’s announcement should not be read as confirmation that production has begun.
