DC Studios has released the final trailer for Clayface, a horror thriller directed by James Watkins. The film stars Tom Rhys Harries in the title role of the cult favorite villain from Gotham’s Rogues’ Gallery. Distributed by Warner Bros, the movie is a 6th & Idaho Production.
The plot follows Matt Hagen, whose meteoric rise from Gotham street kid to Hollywood leading man is cut short when a local crime boss’s actions leave him horribly disfigured. Abandoned by his team, Matt seeks a cutting-edge treatment that restores his former self but unexpectedly affects his grip on reality. This spirals him down a destructive path of all-consuming revenge.
The cast includes Naomi Ackie, David Dencik, Max Minghella, Eddie Marsan, Nancy Carroll, and Joshua James. Watkins directs from a screenplay by Mike Flanagan and Hossein Amini, based on a story by Flanagan and characters from DC. The film is produced by Matt Reeves, Lynn Harris, James Gunn, and Peter Safran. Executive producers include Michael E. Uslan, Chantal Nong Vo, Lars P. Winther, Paul Ritchie, Rafi Crohn, and Trevor Macy.
Watkins’ creative team features director of photography Rob Hardy, production designer James Price, editor Jon Harris, and costume designer Keith Madden. The score is composed by Volker Bertelmann. Daily Dead Media also highlighted other horror developments in its recent roundup, including a new SAW director announcement and Fantastic Fest 2026 reviews for Victorian Psycho, Ghost in the Cell, and The Heretiks.
