Amicus Productions is returning to UK cinemas with In the Grip of Terror, the first new feature from the studio in more than four decades. The theatrical rollout begins at Lumiere Romford, where the film will screen from October 9 to 15. It will then move to Northern Light Cinema in Greater Manchester during the week commencing October 13. A London screening is scheduled for Monday, November 2, at Peckhamplex. Further dates and participating venues across the UK are expected to be announced shortly.
The cast includes Golden Globe nominee Jane Merrow, known for The Lion in Winter and Hands of the Ripper, alongside Laurence R. Harvey (The Human Centipede II) and Megan Tremethick. The release also marks the launch of British Horror Studio Picture House, a new cinema distribution arm. This division will handle theatrical releases for British Horror Studio productions and selected outside titles, with plans being developed to expand the model into North America during 2027.
Lawrie Brewster, founder of British Horror Studio and president of Amicus Productions, stated that many horror creators rarely have the opportunity to see their work presented properly on a cinema screen. He added that the goal is to build a practical route into theatres for distinctive work that prioritizes story, atmosphere, and personality.
